AIRLINE RISK EVALUATOR

Airline Risk Evaluation

HART Aviation reviews scheduled airlines from all over the world as part of an airline risk management tool, the Airline Risk Evaluator. These airline assessments cover indicators such as management, fleet age, accident record, alliances, operational training, maintenance, flying environment, national regulatory control, the International Air Transport Association [IATA] IOSA audit, and other factors.

Various external knowledge sources are used to gather the background data, including subscription aviation intelligence sites and insurance industry sites; HART Aviation advisors then aggregate the data, form a judgment on the relative risk factor of the airline through a series of standardised weightings and algorithms, leading to the assigning of a relative risk rating from 0-10 for each airline. The resulting data is used to prepare a detailed report, and the relative risk ranking is uploaded to the HART Aviation online database.

The Airline Risk Evaluator is kept current by dedicated staff, and airline relative risk ranking is reviewed if there is a significant event, such as an accident, or in any case after two years.
